Students will have a blast exploring this unpredictable and exciting genre of art. They will use their observational skills to uncover elements not seen at first glance, collaborate on possible stories surrounding the art, imagine themselves in the art, create their own surrealistic artworks along the way and much more.

We’ll study artwork created by Sandy Skoglund, Salvador Dali, Erik Johanson, Rene Magritte and more.

By combining play, observation, critical thinking and art creation, students will connect with and develop a lifelong love of art.

Rebecca’s classes pair exciting details of art history with the fun of art creation that will not only educate but also help your child develop a love for the world of art.

Each class is designed to engage your child in different learning modalities in multiple ways of experiencing art by exploring our emotions, observing and analyzing art, describing artworks verbally and in writing, playing games and more. Class topics will cover art movements, the lives and contributions of specific artists, art technique and principles, a look into the art world past and present and students will output what they’ve learned in a variety of mediums.
