In this drawing class, we’ll review helpful tips for drawing from life and students will venture into adding shading and value to their drawings. Judging and adding accurate value is the key to life-like and strong drawings and paintings and is a valuable skill to learn. We’ll also briefly cover reflective objects, fabric, folds and how to handle complex patterns on objects and fabric. As always there will be time for art related games and observation of impressive artwork by other artists.

Supplies needed:
Set of drawing pencils: Can be found at any arts store like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and also Amazon. These pencils come in a range of light (H) to dark (B) graphite and the range will look like something like this: 4H, 2H, HB, 3B, 6B. As long as you have some H’s and some B’s the set will be fine. Two examples: Small Set and Large Set.
White Eraser: White erasers work best and won’t stain your paper. Can also be found with pencils at the arts stores. Example erasers on Amazon.
Sketchbook: 8×10 or larger
Classes will take place at my home in Horseheads New York and I will send you the full address after you’ve registered.
If your child misses a class, I will give them any handouts we used so your child does not miss out. Refunds are not given for missed classes.
Due to possible space limitations in the room there are currently only 4 openings per class, however more openings may become available if I decide there is enough room, so please join the waitlist if this class is full.
