“I can't recommend this class highly enough! My boys have truly enjoyed it and they learned so much! It's a great combination of learning and fun. Thank you!”
During our Glass Artists class, parents are encouraged to take their children to the local Corning Museum of Glass where they can see many works by most of the artists we study. It’s a wonderful experience to see the artwork in person that students have become connected with.
“My kids learned a lot and had a great time in the process! Her feedback was always encouraging.”
Students learn about all the symbolism and unknowns surrounding the Arnolfini Portrait and take positions on what the painting means. Then they recreate the painting using fabric that mimic all the gorgeous colors and textures in the original painting.
“The girls absolutely loved Sketching I and are looking forward to Sketching II”
In our pen and ink technique class, students look at stunning artwork by several artists and illustrators. Students learn pen and ink techniques such as stipple, line drawing, hatch and crosshatch, learn how to create a range of values using these techniques and then create a piece of art.
“We saw the bubble window and some other Wright pieces as well as Tiffany and Chihuly and lots of mosaics! They had a great time checking out the pieces after learning about them.”
Seeing a piece of art in person that you’ve learned about in class feels like meeting a celebrity. It was so amazing to find some Wright windows a few minutes away.

"Ms. Rebecca is a great artist and teacher! She does a wonderful job of explaining concepts to kids in a fun and engaging way. My kids learned a lot and had a great time in the process!"
After 6 weeks learning about glass artists and how some pieces believed to be their works were actually fake, we enjoyed a competitive Christie’s auction with convincing fake money, revealing at the end who purchased forgeries. (gasp)
"My kids are more inspired to pursue art for having taken this course."
Inside the “Miniature Museums” class, students build their own tiny museum and fill it with paintings and sculpture as we cover different art movements each week. This is one of my favorite groups of classes.
